It's just two simple words: "Thank you." But how those two "simple words" are expressed can determine the strength of the message. While working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley, these "simple words" rang out loud and clear.
After video recording other projects for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley, this was the last project of the day. With limited time available to record this last project, we quickly assessed the area we would be working in. The room was small but the elements perfect -- a wall of bookcases packed with children's books.
Next, it was time for equipment setup. As professionals in our industry, we understand how important time can be when getting ready for setup. There is nothing worse then fumbling with a piece of equipment when instead you should be getting your camera settings and lighting composed correctly. This is why our choice of equipment always takes into account ease of setup. So, whether we are saving our clients time for setup fees or time from their own busy schedules, they can be assured that this is an important factor that we consider. In this case, equipment setup time wasn't a major factor. Since we recorded in a small room size, we used one Flora light, a Rode mic, and two Canon cameras. But in any case when it comes to time, it is important to be prepared. Our aim: We prepare to capture your best.
Once our equipment was in place, the CEO and children took their places for the "Thank You" message. We did a quick run through which is always a great idea to help quiet any jitters and familiarize those involved (especially children) with the script and timing. After only one run through of the script, the participants executed a powerful message. Hat tip to the CEO and the children of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley!
Never underestimate the power of video "Thank You" messages. Connecting with others about their generosity and for caring enough to take action via video, is an effective and often times emotional way to show appreciation.
